Message from the President

PictureOMVCA President, Scott Whittaker, RS
The Ohio Mosquito Control Association was founded in 1966 to promote vector control in Ohio and maintain public interest in areas where mosquitoes are already being controlled, to stay current with the latest developments in control methods, to disseminate information to members and the general public, and to unite and coordinate common interests and efforts..

As of May 11, 2016, we are the Ohio Mosquito and Vector Control Association.  Upon numerous discussions with our board and members, a new direction and name change was warranted.  We are currently an organization of public health professionals united in the intentions of our original purpose.  At this point in time, OMVCA is undergoing an initiative to increase membership and its role in the industry.  The biggest need for our organization right now is to get the word out about what we do and encourage our colleagues and other interested parties to become active members of OMVCA.  With increased membership, our positions and opinions on important issues for this industry become stronger, our resources more diverse, and our impact becomes greater. We are the voice and advocate for vector control in Ohio.

I invite you all to explore our website and learn more about our organization and how it can help you in your everyday job duties.  Membership in OMVCA provides you with access to newsletters, proceedings from our annual conference, and access to the latest information from our industry.

Please feel free to contact any member of our Board of Directors for more information about our organization.
